Patients can order repeat prescriptions in any of the following ways
Please note patients should allow two clear working days for prescriptions to be processed and ready for collection.
We are able to dispense medication to patients living more than one mile from the nearest chemist. Collection from Northcote House is available Monday to Friday from 8.00am - 6.00pm. Collection from Fenstanton Surgery is by prior arrangement.
Patients on repeat medications will be asked to see a doctor or nurse practitioner at least once a year to review these regular medications and a notification should appear on your repeat slip or by a text message to your mobile phone.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
Please note we do not have facilities for card payments and can only accept cash or cheques.
Please allow 2 clear working days , excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. We encourage the use of our on-line ordering system for repeat requests.
